The Bungee Run produces a result you can see and point at — your velcro marker sits at the exact spot your maximum effort reached. After the round, both players and everyone watching can look at the two markers and determine the winner without any interpretation. That unambiguous physical result is why losing players immediately want a rematch — there is no debating the outcome, only doing better.

The Bungee Resistance Changes What Strength Means

Running 35 feet is easy. Running 35 feet with a bungee cord pulling you backward with increasing force is not. The resistance grows the further you get from the start — which means the final few feet of the lane require the most explosive output. Players who get 20 feet and stall out are not losing to faster runners. They are losing to players with more leg drive and forward momentum at full bungee extension. Technique — leaning forward, driving through the resistance rather than fighting it — matters as much as raw speed or size.

Seeing Your Opponent's Marker Changes the Game

When both players run simultaneously, each can see the other's progress in their peripheral vision. When players run sequentially, the second player has a visible target — they know exactly how far they need to reach to win. That knowledge changes effort levels instantly. Players who would coast to 22 feet when going first suddenly find 25 feet when they can see the opponent's marker sitting at 24. Competitive visibility is the game mechanic that makes the Bungee Run feel like a sport.

The bungee vest and physical resistance demand genuine effort from anyone age 7 and up. Unlike games where older participants can coast, the Bungee Run's increasing resistance ensures every player works at or near their physical limit to maximize marker distance. Spectators watching two competitors fight bungee cords in parallel lanes stay invested throughout the round — the effort is visible, the struggle is real, and the marker placement moment is always dramatic.

Two-Player Format — Fast Rounds, High Throughput

Each round runs under 60 seconds — both players launch, run to maximum distance, place markers, and get snapped back. Vest swap and reset takes another 60 to 90 seconds. Two to three minutes total cycle time per pair means the Bungee Run can rotate through 20 to 25 pairs per hour. For events with large guest lists, that throughput is competitive with multi-player games despite running only two at a time.

Strap Into the Vest

Each player steps into a bungee vest at the start of their lane. The vest distributes bungee tension across the torso — not just around the waist — which is why the minimum age is 7. Your adult supervisor confirms both vests are properly fitted and both bungee cords are secured before the round starts. Players pick up their velcro marker and hold it in hand.

Sprint — Fight the Bungee

On the supervisor's start signal, both players sprint down their lane simultaneously. The bungee offers almost no resistance at first — then resistance grows rapidly as the cord stretches further. Players who run with forward lean and drive through the resistance get further than players who try to pull themselves forward against the cord. The goal is to reach maximum possible distance before the bungee force becomes greater than your leg drive.

Place the Velcro Marker

At maximum reach — the moment forward progress stops — the player slaps their velcro marker onto the lane surface or wall at that exact point. The marker sticks immediately. Then the bungee cord snaps them back toward the start. The marker stays exactly where they placed it. Both players' markers are now visible on the lane — whoever placed further down the lane wins the round.

Result, Reset, Rematch

The supervisor confirms the result — the markers make it unambiguous. Players remove vests, markers are retrieved and reset to start position, the next pair steps in. With 8 full hours of rental time, the Bungee Run runs continuously across your event. Players who lose their first round are back in line immediately for a rematch. The best-of-three format is common at after prom and corporate events because neither player is satisfied with one result.

Space Requirements

Setup area is 16 feet wide by 37 feet long, 8 feet tall. The long, narrow rectangular footprint fits naturally in residential backyards alongside the length of a house or fence line. The 8-foot height is lower than most large inflatables in our catalog — standard backyard overhead clearances accommodate this without concern in most setups. Surface can be grass, concrete, or asphalt and must be level and flat. A 4-foot wide access path from the street or gate to the setup location allows delivery.

Electrical — One Circuit, Full Simplicity

One 110v outlet on a single 12-amp circuit within 100 feet of the setup location handles the full unit. Our crew brings a 100-foot extension cord. No additional cord chaining beyond 100 feet is permitted. The Bungee Run has the same basic electrical requirement as a standard bounce house — one circuit powers both lanes and the full inflatable structure.

Supervisor Notes — Managing the Vest and Cord

Your adult supervisor manages vest fitting for each pair of players, confirms bungee cord attachment before each round, gives the start signal, watches for any player who loses footing during the snapback, and retrieves and resets velcro markers between rounds.
