40 Feet Wide — A Square Floor Plan, Not a Corridor

The 20-wide tents create a corridor — guests sit in rows along the length. The 40x50 creates a room. At 40 feet of width, round tables spread five or six across. Rectangle tables run the full 40-foot width in short, wide rows rather than long narrow ones. A stage at one short end has the full 40-foot width as its backdrop. A dance floor in the center has real side clearance. The 40-foot width is what makes 200-person event layouts feel like rooms rather than lines.

2,000 Square Feet — Seats 200 Comfortably

The 20x90 covers 1,800 square feet. The 40x50 covers 2,000. But the extra 200 square feet understates the difference — the 40-foot width is what makes 200-person seating comfortable rather than merely possible. Twenty round tables in a 40-foot-wide floor have real aisle space between them. The same 20 tables in a 20-wide tent would be positioned within inches of each other. The 40x50 is where events move from "we can seat 200" to "200 guests are comfortable."

Aztec Construction — Not a Commercial-Labeled Popup

At 2,000 square feet, the structural difference between a genuine commercial high peak and a large popup frame with a commercial label is consequential. Our 40x50 is manufactured by Aztec Tents — rated to withstand over 60 mph winds when properly anchored. We get calls regularly from customers who did not know they had rented a large popup frame labeled as commercial until the crew arrived. Confirm what you are getting before the event date, not after.

No Center Poles — 2,000 Unobstructed Square Feet

Frame tent construction carries all structural load at the perimeter — the interior is completely open. At 40 feet of width, center poles would divide the tent into two 20-foot sections, forcing table arrangements around structural obstructions. The 40x50 frame eliminates that. The full floor is open from corner to corner — a service corridor runs the full 50-foot length, a stage spans the full 40-foot width, and table arrangements are planned on a grid rather than around obstacles.

The Right Step Up From the 20-Wide Series

When an event outgrows the 20x90 — either in guest count or in the floor plan type required — the 40x50 is the natural step up. At $1,175 it costs $70 more than the 20x90 ($1,105) and delivers 200 more square feet plus the 40-foot width that changes the event geometry. Crew Installation — Day Before, Day After

8ft Rectangle Tables — Up to 200 Guests

Twenty-five 8ft rectangle tables seat up to 200 guests. At 40 feet of width, tables run in wide horizontal rows across the full tent width — a fundamentally different arrangement from the long narrow rows of a 20-wide tent. Best for large graduation banquets, company award dinners, and reunion dinners requiring maximum coverage on a wide open floor plan.

60" Round Tables — 160 to 200 Guests

Twenty round tables seat 160 guests at 8 per table, or 200 at 10 per table. At 8 per table in a 40x50 tent, the round-table spacing matches what formal venues deliver — real aisle width, server access from all sides, guests able to leave chairs without stepping around neighbors. The configuration for formal wedding receptions and fundraiser dinners at 160 to 200 guests.

Full Stage and Dining Layout — 120 to 160 Guests

A stage spanning the full 40-foot width at one short end. Ten to twelve round tables through the dining section. A catering station at the opposite end. Three independent zones — stage, dining, service — each at full scale. This layout a 200-person 20-wide tent cannot achieve — the 40x50 width gives the stage real visual separation from the audience.

Wedding Reception — 150 to 200 Guests With Dance Floor

Head table at one short end. Fifteen round tables through the main body. A dance floor in the center by removing two tables — 200 to 300 square feet of open dance space without displacing any seated guests. Bar at the entrance end. At 40 feet of width, the dance floor has guests seated on both sides. The 40x50 is where an outdoor wedding reception with a real dance floor finally has room to work.

Standing / Cocktail — 300 to 350 Guests

Remove seated tables and 2,000 open square feet handles 300 to 350 guests in cocktail or open house format. At 40 feet of width and 50 feet of depth, even at 350 guests there is no pinch point where the crowd funnels through a narrow section. Small-festival-tent territory — a single structure covering an entire large event.

Space Required — Call Before Booking

The tent footprint is 40x50 feet. The full setup area with staking clearance is 45x55 feet — 2,475 square feet of clear, flat, overhead-obstruction-free ground. Residential properties are effectively never viable at this size. Church outdoor pads, school grounds, corporate campuses, large estates, and park event fields are the standard sites. Grass Setup — 811 Call Mandatory Before We Arrive

Call 811 at least 5 business days before installation. All underground utilities — water, gas, electrical, fiber optic, and public lines — must be marked before our crew arrives. Mark your private lines (irrigation, septic laterals) yourself. At 40x50 feet, the staking perimeter is substantial. All stakes go 36 inches into the ground. Unmarked lines stop the installation — no exceptions at this tent size.

Concrete Setup — Extra Charge, Plan in Advance

Concrete installations use water barrel or drill anchors — additional charge applies. Water barrels require a water source within 100 feet of the tent footprint. We provide anchors and drill for drilled installations. A 40x50 concrete setup requires equipment loaded specifically for this job and confirmed in advance. Permits — Assume Required at 2,000 Square Feet

At 2,000 square feet, every Texas municipality tent permit threshold has been crossed. Fire marshal review, occupancy inspections, and additional permits for food service or amplified sound are common at this scale. Tent permits are entirely the customer's responsibility — we do not obtain them. Start the process before finalizing your event date. Processing at 2,000 square feet takes time. Budgets for permit costs as part of your event planning from the beginning.

Outdoor Wedding Receptions — 150 to 200 Guests

A wedding reception for 150 to 200 guests with a full round-table layout, a dance floor, a bar, and a head table setup needs 2,000 square feet and 40 feet of width to work without any zone overlapping another. The 40x50 is where outdoor wedding receptions stop requiring compromises on the dance floor size, the table spacing, or the stage depth.
