The 18ft Tidal Wave Waterslide in DFW Texas
The 18ft Tidal Wave is our ocean-themed non-pool inflatable water slide rental in DFW Texas. This is the 18-foot slide to pick when you want the height and speed of our giant water slides but do not want a pool of standing water at the bottom of your setup. Blue ocean wave graphics carry the theme, a steep sliding lane delivers real speed, and the landing finishes with a splash instead of a pool.
The Tidal Wave is built for ages 5 to adult. The tall starting height and steep incline deliver real speed, so it is better suited to school-age kids, teens, and adults with a bit of a wild side. The non-pool finish makes this the safer choice for events where younger siblings are around, and it works for schools, daycares, and church events where pool-landing slides are not permitted. Adult supervision is required at all times.
The Tidal Wave is front-loading — you climb up the same side you slide down. Front-loading is safer and easier than rear-loading designs: kids are less likely to fall off the platform while climbing, and one adult supervisor can watch the climb and the descent from a single spot on the ground. Every water slide in our fleet is state-inspected annually by the Texas Department of Insurance, constructed from lead-free fire-retardant vinyl, and cleaned between every rental. We deliver and set up the Tidal Wave across Cleburne, Alvarado, Joshua, and 50+ cities throughout the DFW metroplex.

Why the 18ft Tidal Wave Is the Non-Pool 18ft Slide to Pick
Non-Pool Finish at the Bottom
The Tidal Wave is the only 18-foot water slide in our fleet that does not end in a splash pool. That is the key difference from our Purple Crush, Blue Crush, Super Storm, and Aloha 18ft slides — same height and speed, different landing style.
Safer Around Toddlers
No pool at the base means no standing water for toddlers or younger siblings to wander into. If your backyard birthday has kids under 3 in the mix, the Tidal Wave is the 18-foot pick that gives the bigger kids their thrill without creating a water-safety concern.
School and Daycare Friendly
Some schools, daycares, and church event venues do not permit slides with pool landings because of the standing water. The Tidal Wave solves that — same 18-foot height and speed, non-pool finish. We handle vendor approval for schools and provide all required COI documentation.
Ocean Wave Theme
The Tidal Wave is ocean themed with blue wave graphics. Works for beach parties, shark-themed birthdays, nautical events, Under the Sea parties, and summer events where the theme matches. Pairs naturally with other ocean-themed rentals.
Front-Loading Climb (Easier and Safer)
You climb up the same side you slide down. Front-loading is safer than rear-loading designs because kids are less likely to fall off the platform, and one supervisor can watch the entire slide from a single spot on the ground.
Easier Cleanup, Less Standing Water
No pool to drain at the end of your event means easier cleanup and less water sitting around your yard. Great for yards where water drainage is a concern or for venues that charge for cleanup time.
How the 18ft Tidal Wave Waterslide Works
1
Climb the Front-Loading Tower
Riders climb up the front of the slide to the 18-foot summit. Front-loading means you climb and slide on the same side, so one adult supervisor can watch the whole slide from a single spot on the ground.
2
Launch Down the Wave Lane
The sliding lane drops at a steep angle with water rushing the whole way. The ocean-wave graphics run down the sliding surface. Riders come down fast and pick up real velocity on the way.
3
Splash Landing at the Base
The ride finishes with a splash landing at the base of the drop — not a pool. Riders come to a stop at the landing, step off, and head back around to climb again. No standing water to wade through.
4
Climb Back Up and Go Again
Walk back to the climb and go again. You have the full 8 hours, so most guests will ride the Tidal Wave again and again throughout the day.
Setup Requirements and How to Book the 18ft Tidal Wave
Space and Access Requirements
You need 40 feet of length and 20 feet of width on flat ground with 18 feet of overhead clearance — no low-hanging tree branches or power lines above the setup area. The actual footprint is 14 feet wide by 35 feet long. A 48-inch (4-foot) wide gate to the backyard and a clear path to the setup location are required so our delivery crew can carry the unit through. The slide runs on one 110v outlet on a dedicated 20 amp circuit within 100 feet of the setup location.
Water Hose Requirements
You must provide a traditional garden hose long enough to reach from your water spigot to the slide setup location. Do not use expandable grow hoses — they do not provide enough water pressure to keep the Tidal Wave's sliding surface properly wet. Inflatable Party Magic provides tarps for every water slide rental to reduce mud and water mess at the entry and exit areas.

Safety Features and Standards
All inflatables from Inflatable Party Magic are state-inspected annually by the Texas Department of Insurance, constructed from lead-free fire-retardant vinyl, and cleaned between every rental. The Tidal Wave's non-pool finish eliminates the standing-water safety concern of pool-landing slides. Read about our safety standards.
Best Events for the 18ft Tidal Wave Waterslide Rental
Ocean and Beach-Themed Parties
Shark parties, Under the Sea birthdays, surfing-themed events, nautical parties — the blue wave graphics pull the ocean theme together without extra decorations.
Parties with Toddlers Around
No pool means no standing water for toddlers to wander into. If your backyard birthday has kids under 3 in the mix, the Tidal Wave is the 18-foot slide to pick for the bigger kids without creating a water-safety area.
Kids and Teen Birthday Parties
The ages 5-to-adult range makes this a flexible choice for birthdays with mixed age groups. Teens get the speed, school-age kids get the thrill, and the non-pool finish keeps the setup simple.
School Field Days and End-of-Year Events
Many schools do not allow slides with pool landings. The Tidal Wave solves that — 18 feet of excitement with a non-pool finish that schools approve. Great for school field days and end-of-year reward events.
Daycare and Preschool Summer Events
Daycares with older kids (5+) can rent the Tidal Wave for summer events, graduation parties, and year-end celebrations. The non-pool finish is safer around younger siblings visiting the event.
Church Summer Events and VBS
Churches rent the Tidal Wave for summer kick-offs, VBS events, youth group water days, and family fun days. The non-pool finish is easier on church insurance requirements and keeps the cleanup simple.
Corporate Summer Events
Company picnics and employee appreciation days need entertainment that works for adults too. The 18-foot height and non-pool finish make the Tidal Wave a strong pick for a corporate event with families and kids in attendance.
HOA and Neighborhood Block Parties
The Tidal Wave's non-pool finish is easier for HOA events where kids of all ages are present. No pool to drain, no standing water to monitor, same 18-foot thrill for the older kids and adults.

Frequently Asked Questions About the 18ft Tidal Wave Waterslide
Does the Tidal Wave have a pool at the bottom?
No. The Tidal Wave has a splash landing at the base of the drop instead of a splash pool. This makes the Tidal Wave a safer pick around toddlers and younger siblings who might wander near the landing area, and works for schools and venues where pool-landing slides are not permitted.
How tall is the Tidal Wave waterslide?
The Tidal Wave stands 18 feet tall with a steep sliding lane. The actual footprint is 14 feet wide by 35 feet long. You need a setup area of 20 feet wide by 40 feet long with 18 feet of overhead clearance — no low-hanging branches or power lines above the slide.
What ages can ride the Tidal Wave?
The Tidal Wave is best for ages 5 to adult. The tall starting height and steep incline deliver real speed, so we do not recommend it for children under 5 and younger riders need a bit of a wild side to enjoy the drop. Adult supervision is required at all times.
What does front-loading mean on a water slide?
Front-loading means you climb up the same side of the slide that you slide down. That is safer and easier than rear-loading designs, where you climb up the back and swing around to the slide lane — which is where riders are more likely to fall off the platform. Front-loading also lets one adult supervisor watch the entire slide from a single spot on the ground.
Is the Tidal Wave approved for schools and daycares?
Yes. The non-pool finish makes the Tidal Wave approved for schools, daycares, and church event venues that do not allow pool-finish slides. Inflatable Party Magic handles vendor approval paperwork for schools and provides all required COI documentation. Confirm with your venue in advance to make sure an 18-foot slide is within their height allowances.
